    colinandhisbowtie: “You’re friendly, then you’re an ass, you’re friendly again, then you’re an ass. I just don’t understand.”  Merlin throws his bowl of food down onto the floor, Arthur gives him an irritated look. “What makes you think —” Arthur starts. “that I can talk to you like that.” Merlin interrupts quickly, his emotions getting the better of him. “Whatever, sire.” Arthur reaches his hand out and catches Merlin’s arm.  “I’m sorry.” Arthur confesses. Merlin laughs. “Whatever.” “Merlin, I—” “What Arthur, what?” Merlin screams. “Going to keep leading me on? Going to keep forcing me to do work to keep me away from you.” “Its not right!” Arthur yelled, “It’s not right that a prince is in lo—” Arthur stops speaking. Merlin doesn’t say anything, just gives Arthur his deepest look of contempt. He could ring Arthur’s neck right now. Arthur looks back at him, too hurt, apparently, to hide how he really feels. Merlin takes their bowls and heads towards the stream. “Merlin…” Arthur calls out. “Sod off.” Merlin yells back.
